New Year – New Info & Programs

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We’re coming out swinging in 18! We’ve been working behind the scenes to roll out some exciting new programs, seminars, and features for you guys. This is a lot of info so please feel free to reach out to a coach with any questions! Here’s what we’ve got going down!

January Max Meters Challenge!

For the month of January, we are doing an online Concept2 (rower and skierg) max meters challenge. Here’s how you participate:

Step 1: Go to https://log.concept2.com/

Step 2: Create Account

Step 3: Select Menu – Teams

Step 4: Join Team – Select PSKC

Step 5: Join Virtual Team Challenge

Each time you row and/or ski, sign into your account and log your meters for the day.

Here’s how you win! The person who accumulates the most meters combined with posting the most photos of the monitor display to the Spartan You FB page in the month of January wins a FREE month. So be sure to do some extra credit before and after class to tally up those meters! Drop any questions to comments – contest begins January 1st through January 31st.

Open Ready Programming & Seminar Series:

The CrossFit Open is the first stage of the CrossFit Games season and the largest community event of the year. Do it for fun, your affiliate family, fitness! Every year we host “Friday Night Lights” a 5 week intramural team competition that coincides with the Open which starts February 22nd. To better help prepare you guys we are launching a 6 week block of programming to get you guys “Open Ready”. This block of programming will be heavy on the conditioning with a focus on the skills/movements you’ll expect to see during the Open.

Additionally – Starting Thursday January 18th at 5pm we will be hosting a weekly movement seminar series where we help you guys learn and improve on the more skill based movements that will pop up in the Open, such as;

Olympic Lifts (Clean/Jerk and Snatch)

Gymnastic Movements – pullups, handstand push ups, toes to bar

Double Unders

Rowing

The cost for this seminar is only $10 and we are capping attendance at 10 people.  This is a great opportunity for the folks in Unloaded who want to participate in this year’s Open. You can take these weekly classes and be prepared for Friday Night Lights.

On Site Physical Therapy and Recovery

Starting Thursday January 4th the ladies from TrinityOne Physical Therapy will be offering in house physical therapy and treatments (adjustments, dry needling, myofascial release, etc)! Got tight/sore low back/shoulders? Old nagging injuries? You can now get treated in house at the gym! They will be in the gym on January 4th Thursday at 2:15pm. To keep this a weekly event, we need at least 4-5 people signed up. We will have a sign up sheet at the gym. Payment will be made directly to TrinityOne.

Fuel & Fitness Seminar! Saturday January 6th

Start the New Year armed with knowledge to help you lose weight! There is no one size fits all when it comes to diet and nutrition. We will be discussing the current diet trends, the science of weight gain and weight loss, and answering any and all questions!

We will start the day with a FREE workout at 9am followed by a nutrition seminar at 10am. Fuel the Flame Meal Prep will on site catering the seminar. We will discuss the following:

1) Clean Eating

2) “Paleo”

3) What are Macros?

4) Intermittent Fasting

All the coaches will be on site to discuss tips/tricks and their experiences. This is FREE and open to all! The FREE workout starts at 9am and the seminar begins afterwards at 10am. You can choose to do both or just the seminar, whatever works best for you.

Partner Competition Fundraiser for Team SAR – January 20th

Kickoff 2018 with an awesome partner competition benefiting Team SAR! Several athletes from Team SAR will be in house competing! Proceeds go to Team SAR to help fund their travel to the Arnold Classic!

Events will be ran cannonball style – meaning each heat last around 90 minutes and then you’re done for the rest of the day! You can expect fun, creativity, and teamwork. This is a great opportunity for beginners. Click HERE to sign up!
