02 Mar 15.1 #PSKCOPEN = One of the Coolest Days in the Gym
The sign up front reads “Portsmouth Ohio’s Home for CrossFit Awesomeness” on Friday night the inaugural #pskcopen went down and it lived up to the awesomeness as advertised. We have around 80 athletes assigned to 5 teams, all looking to prove their fitness and be apart of a great community.
Rue vs Fitch did not disappoint as those two men gave everything they had to kick off the night. Heat after Heat constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements where at a all time high as everyone in the house made every rep count. Some of the best moments came from those who where participating in their first open. The feeling of accomplishment and support from their teammates was exactly what we were aiming for.
The finishing act was just as good as the opening as 12 year old Lila Rideout completed 15.1 & 15.1A. All of this could not happened without you guys, thank you all to those who volunteered and judged. The PSKC community is amazing, you guys never cease to amaze and Friday night was no different.
The Spartan Award goes to the team who showed the most camaraderie and tenacity for each week of the Open. The photo with the most “likes” wins and points will be awarded to the team. The Spartan award is the highest point total a team can be awarded. Voting stops at midnight on Monday, so please go the PSKC Facebook page and make sure you “like” your favorite team photo.
Next Weekend the Arnold is going down and is going to be huge for PSKC as we have several teams representing as well as teaming up with Team Some Assembly Required and Rogue American Apparel. We will be in Columbus Friday through Sunday, so all classes on Friday and Saturday will be cancelled, including 15.2 Friday Night Lights. However, don’t worry because Monday will be the day to get your 15.2 in. We will have more details for time as the week progress. In the meantime feel free to ask your team captains for more information.
If you have not done 15.1 yet remember you have until 8pm Monday Night to get your score in.
